The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, A. Yatseniuk, states that all political forces should reach agreement on the key National priorities.

‘Normal working of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine is impossible without a dialogue between the Majority and Minority´, reported A. Yatseniuk on Tuesday, in the live broadcast of 'Political Studio' in the State TV and Radio Company 'Crimea', during his two-day working visit to The Autonomous Republic of Crimea.

He was strongly opposed to using force in Parliament. 'If we choose a 'force' variant of confrontation, we shall achieve nothing', he said.

The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine stressed that the Coalition is interested in normalization of Parliamentary proceedings. 'It is of great significance today for the Coalition to have the Governmental Programme of Activities adopted. The Coalition is interested in the operation of Parliament. It is of great significance today for the Coalition to have a package of economic bills adopted to fill the revenue part of the Budget. It is important today for the Coalition that the State Budget is amended'.

'Paradoxically though, everything listed above is important for the Opposition as well´, added A. Yatseniuk.

'Parliament is a fortress, and above all this is a fortress to protect the rights of the Ukrainian Opposition. This is a place where the Opposition feels absolutely protected and where it can resolve the problems it faces', said the Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

He declared his intention to insist that each People's Deputy votes personally during the Second Session of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

'In this is the force of both Coalition and Opposition. Deputies must be present, must be involved in debates, offer their opinion and compete intellectually, not physically', believes The Chairman of The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine.

Touching on the matter of Local Elections, A. Yatseniuk said that these can only be possible once amendments are made to the Electoral Legislation. 'Moreover, elections to Local Councils today will bring destabilization at a local level,' he said.
